THE GAL

Sara and I go way back. When we met, neither one of us were married, we were both working at Free People in SATX, figuring out what the heck was our long-term plan. Since then, we have accumulated 2 husbands (1 each, just to be clear), 2 kiddos (both mine), 1 new and 1 old doggo, and 2 passions for weddings, love stories, and people.

Sara is now the kick-ass wedding planner and designer, Elaine Events, based out of Austin, Texas. She has traveled all over Texas, out west to Terlingua, across state lines to Las Vegas, and will go anywhere y’all want to take her.

THE VISION

Predictable, boring, stuffy.

LOL JK. I do a lot of different and out there things as a photographer, but never any of those.

The vision was outlawed luxury.

Natural but edgy, refined but easy going.

Pairing the personality of the planner, with her professionalism and expertise.

We knew we wanted as many looks as possible: outfit changes, location and backdrop. All to give a million possibilities and looks Sara can use across her website, social media, and marketing.

THE ‘FITS

I absolutely love thrifting for sessions, and boy did the thrift world have a gift for us. I was on the hunt for an oversized blazer (which was found and incredible) and came across an INSANELY PERFECT blouse. Think Texas, cowboy boots, pearls, immaculate vibes all around. Better yet, I’ll just show ya.

Incredible.

THE PLACE

We decided on Southern Love Studio in Austin, TX and it couldn’t have been better. Fair rates, easy communication, simple access and instructions. This will absolutely be one of my most used Austin studios in the future. They have so many backdrop options, variety of seating and props, white wall, rustic stairs, an upstairs loft with amazing light, and endless possibilities.

But before I do, let me say share this key to branding photos:

YOU – you are the key babe.

Your brand is a mixture of so much. A clear message, amazing copy, distinct values, unique skills and services, and a frick-ton more. But the one thing that absolutely no one else can replicate, is being YOU. Your personality, vision, work ethic. The way you make others feel, not only in a moment but about themselves. It’s all you.

In a service industry (wedding planners, photographers, videographers, small business owners, ya get the gist) letting out what makes you, you through your photos is the best way to set yourself apart. The days of stuffy headshots and cliché poses are gone, and PTL for it.

Branding sessions are becoming a favorite for me. Seriously, nothing sets my soul on fire like creating for other small business owners and giving you a tangible way to show off your business.
